Client Privacy Policy Statement
Link Financial Corporation (LFC) is committed to the responsible management, use, and protection of our Clients’ personal information. We treat the information we gather about our Clients in a confidential manner to reduce fraud and other risks. We collect information to help us serve our Clients’ regulatory requirements. Any collection of personal information is to support our normal business operations and service Client accounts. Please take a moment to review our Privacy Policy, as described below.
Gathering Information
In order to manage your account and provide other services, we may collect nonpublic personal, financial, and other confidential information by the following methods or from the following sources:
- Information from applications and forms or provided by you in person, over the telephone, electronically, or from your other advisors (for example, attorney, insurance agent, or tax advisor);
- The types of information we gather includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, Social Security number, marital status, assets, liabilities, income, types of insurance policies, and current employment information; and,
- Information regarding your financial transactions, account balances, and disclosure of your accounts with other custodians.
Sharing Information
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as required by law, applicable regulation, or standard fiduciary practices. However, in the course of servicing your account or providing other services, we may share previously described information about you with other service providers, such as your other advisors or custodians, to effect transactions, provide account maintenance or other services to your account. We may also disclose your information as required by law, such as to government agencies and law enforcement officials, (for example, regarding tax reporting or as required under a Court order), or to other organizations and individuals with your consent (for example, your attorney or tax advisor).
Custodians separately provide their own Privacy Policy to our Clients.
Safeguarding Privacy
We maintain certain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your nonpublic personal information to ensure that we are complying with industry practices and federal regulations. We emphasize the importance of information security through our Employee Manual, this Privacy Policy, and the contracts and agreements we sign with external service providers and other Associates. We safeguard information by regularly assessing our security standards and procedures to protect against unauthorized access to your personal information.
Note: LFC will provide Clients with our Privacy Policy at the inception of our business relationship and annually thereafter. We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time, without notice, and will notify Clients of any modifications. If we change our policy to offer nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties other than for the reasons mentioned above, we will provide our Clients with an option to exclude their data from inclusion in this information-sharing and certain disclosures may require us to get an “option in” or “opt out” authorization from you. If this is required, we will do so before any information is shared.
